The day before pay day is an emotional roller-coaster. You've got the excitement that it is almost pay day. You've got the regret of spending so much money since the last pay day and you've got the confusion of where you spent all of that money and why you've got nothing to show for it now.

Whether you get paid weekly, monthly or fortnightly chances are you're pretty relieved when pay day finally does roll around.

Some... probably all of these activities could be the reason why your finances are out of control by the time pay day comes around.

1. Mobile data

All those cute cat videos you've been watching are definitely taking a toll on your mobile data allowance and that mobile data is worth it's weight in gold. Seriously though why is mobile data so expensive!

2. Post-work drinks

You might have had a stressful day but the post work drinks really don't help the bank account...

3. Cinema

You just can't watch a movie without a chock top and when you're having a chock top you have to dip your popcorn in it and yup now you've spent $30.

4. Cleaner

Yeah cleaning sucks but it is a lot cheaper to DIY!

5. Lunch

Bring back the lunch box! Every meal out ads up! It might be 10 dollars here and there but $10 five times a week is an easy $50 you could save.

6. Broken phone

You don't want to spend $30 on a case but you're willing to pay $250 every time you have to replace your screen. Do your bank account a favour and invest in a case!

7. You shop when you’re hungry

Shopping when you're hungry means you'll buy more than you need to. Always have a meal before heading out to do the groceries!

8. Sales shopping

Just becuase it's on sale doesn't mean you need it. Say yes to the items you need but the 15 other sale items can probably stay in the store.

9. The gym

That gym membership you're not using isn't helping strength, fitness or financial well being. Make sure you can justify spending that money before you get locked into a contract.

10. Rent

Literally goodbye pay cheque. The housing prices aren't exactly doing us any favours either. WE'RE DOOMED!!!
