Watch Inmates Break Free From Their Cell to Save A Prison Guard's Life

This is the moment caught on security footage when a group of inmates break from their cell to save a prison guard after he fell unconscious.

Officials refused to identify the officer, but said he had keys and a gun in his possession, so things could have gone differently.

Inmate Nick Kelton told WFAA: "He just fell over. Looked like an act. Could have died right there."

Officers rushed down to the aid of their co-worker to resuscitate him, but Inmate Floyd Smith believed that they 'thought it was a fight'.

The man received CPR and it's believed he survived.
