It's pretty taboo but because it is, it means people aren't really talking about it and some people totally just had their minds blown with this Twitter poll.
Sam Bowman, executive director of UK libertarian think tank The Adam Smith Institute, created a poll, asking if people wipe "sitting down or standing up" after a number two.
It sounds a simple enough question, but it transpires Mr Bowman has opened up quite the can of worms.Â
Do you wipe:

@s8mb the idea of sitting seems all kinds of weird, though interesting. Do you shuffle forwards and reach round from the back?

.@s8mb People who sit while wiping their derriere are as bad as those who hang toilet rolls with sheets to the rear.

User kayfourbee commented: "Sitting is clearly entirely impractical."
Jason Kuznicki appeared to agree, entering into the debate by pointing out: "Electronic toilets were clearly designed by people who sit.
"Standers must have to flush multiple times."
When his reasoning was questioned, Jason continued: "If you stand up to wipe, the toilet automatically flushes. Then there's the paper to flush away afterward."
One user whose mind was totally blown just tweeted: "WTF, people STAND?!?!"
Mr Bowman admitted to being in the sitting camp, replying: "Crazy, isn't it? Makes no sense to me at all. Can't even visualise it."Â
@trousercake Aha! Most people in my office cannot believe there are standers, and the few we have are ashamed.

So, that leaves us to ask you, do you stand or sit to wipe after you've gone number twos?Â
