Three-year-old Caiden had a wish to become a princess for Halloween and his father made his dreams come true.

Paul Henson’s parenting skills have been widely praised online after he embraced his son’s decision to dress up as Princess Elsa from Disney film Frozen.

He posted a picture of his son dressed in the Halloween outfit on Facebook, along with a passionate post about traditional gender stereotypes.

"Keep your masculine bulls--t and slutty kids costumes, Halloween is about children pretending to be their favourite characters. Just so happens, this week his is a princess," he wrote.

Paul was met by a lot of praise.

"Paul I’m so proud of you for being a parent and standing by your child no matter what! Stereotypes have no place in a child's life!" commented one.

Another added: "You are an absolutely amazing father, Paul. I am proud to know you. This post made my day."

Mr Henson told The Huffington Post: "It's important for children to know that their parents will stand by them no matter what."

He added: "Why shame him for wanting to be a princess? When little girls want to be superheroes, it's cute. Why isn't it the same for a little boy that wants to be a princess?"
