Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health have released the findings of a new study, which found that women who use contraception are having more sex than women who don't. INTERESTING!

210,000 women in low- and middle-income countries participated in the study by filling out surveys since 2005. They found that 90 percent of women who used contraception had sex in the last four weeks, compared with the 72 percent of women who didn't use contraception.

Suzanne Bell, who worked on the study, said that while some countries were having more sex than others, there wasn't any single country wherein women who didn't use contraception were having more sex than those who did.

Bell says it could just be due to the fact that contraception "can separate sex from unwanted pregnancy," but she's not sure if it's that simple, adding that some women might not use contraception because they've experienced negative side effects, or they could have a partner who doesn't want them using birth control.

Overall, Bell said more research is needed before we can all firmly declare that "contraception = more sex", but this study definitely hints that that could be the case.
