No animal belongs in a cage, but if done properly, zoos can create a great opportunity for the general public to develop an interest and education in our planet's creatures. These photos of the Copenhagen Zoo in Denmark in 1955 show a magical world where humans and animals interacted in ways that most of today's zoos would never allow. Though we do agree some of the animal's living quarters could have been made a bit nicer!!
