/5 Stockholm's Nordic Light Hotel recently announced that it will accept "social currency" instead of cash. The catch? You've got to have serious numbers. You must have at least 2,000 personal Facebook friends, 100,000 Facebook fans or 100,000 followers on Instagram to snag a free seven-night stay at the ultra plush hotel (normally $360/night).

/5 Why would they be so nice? Because you've got to do some marketing for them! In exchange for your high-roller status, guests agree to promote the hotel on said social networks before, during, and after they stay. If you're Facebook popular, you must: "share a post when making the reservation, one at check-in and one at check-out, mention our website (www.nordiclighthotel.com) and Facebook page in your posts. You also need to like us on Facebook and tag that you are here at check-in and check-out." If you're Instagram popular, you must: "share a post when making the reservation, one at check-in and one at check-out. Use #nordiclighthotel in your posts and tag Nordic Light Hotel when you're here and have checked-in."

/5 Still, what are a couple of posts in exchange for 7 glorious nights in one of the fanciest hotels in Stockholm? (And whatever's going on here?) Marcus Majewski, chief executive officer of the Nordic Light Hotel, said the business considers social media posts to be a form of "currency" as they provide marketing for the hotel. "I am proud that we are the first hotel in the Nordic region to offer this currency," Majewski said.

/5 It's a pretty creative way to get free publicity and hopefully most of the 'social celebrities' taking advantage will be do-gooders like this guy...

/5 Even if you don't have enough followers to earn a free stay, you could still nab a sweet discount. 500 - 1,500 private friends on Facebook earns you a 5-15% discount, while you'll need 5,000-15,000 Instagram followers to net the same deal.
