A crocodile apparently decided to have a refreshing morning dip in a swimming pool in Florida Keys. 

Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said a shocked homeowner called about 7:30 in the morning to report that a croc was in his pool.

A photo that was provided by the sheriff's office shows the massive reptile floating in the shallow end of the pool.The animal was said to be about 8 feet long, thats 8 Subway foot-longs in length!

The croc has been reported to have been safely removed and returned to its native habitat by deputies and officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The American crocodile is designated as a federal threatened species. It lives mainly in South Florida and the Keys.
