Woman Who Was Sat in McDonald’s For Hours Had Actually Died

A woman has been found dead after spending all night in a McDonald's restaurant in Hong Kong.

The woman initially entered McD's and ordered a glass of water which she then sat down with.

Staff say she was moving at first but it took until the next morning for anyone to notice that something was wrong with her.

This might sound a bit weird - who doesn't check a woman who has sat there all night? But, it wasn't too suspicious because in Hong Kong rents are so high that people don't bat an eyelid when they see homeless people spend the night in restaurants to keep warm and safe.

The woman, believed to be in her 50s or 60s, was discovered dead at 8.30am, despite slumping over on the table at 1.30am, while people ate their late night meals around her.

A police statement said:

"Officers arrived upon a report from a female customer (that a person was found to have fainted)."

The subject was certified dead at the scene.
