A woman in China says she has been pregnant for 17 months and that doctors have told her she’s still not ready to give birth.
Wang Shi’s due date was reportedly in November last year. She went to hospital with her husband Kang Zhiwei where she was told that due to an underdeveloped placenta she could not give birth just yet.
It's been nearly nine months and she's desperate to get the 3.8kg baby out. She's demanding that doctors give her a caesarean.
Wang told CEN, "My husband and I have gone back to the hospital once a week since my due date hoping to deliver the baby. It has cost us more than 10,000 RMB ($AU1,970) just for the check-ups alone, and we've now lost our patience."
She has gained 25.2kg since becoming pregnant, but says she hasn’t suffered any physical problems.Â

Wang said, "I feel ashamed of being pregnant for so long. I hope I can successfully and safely deliver my baby next month."
Wang reportedly has placenta previa, a condition in which the placenta has implanted at the bottom of the uterus, covering the cervix.
Her story has not been verified by any doctors.Â
But this is true, it's awful!Â
The longest pregnancy on record is that of Beulah Hunter, who was supposedly pregnant for 375 days and gave birth in 1945.
