When you think of worms, you don't think of IMMENSE PAIN. Well, now you may.

We present you a new species of worm.

It's name?

The Penis Worm.

Okay, so technically it's called Priapulida but the Penis Worm is a more descriptive (and commonly used it seems) name.

It’s pretty fierce. It can actually turn its mouth and throat inside-out, exposing a jagged array of gnarly teeth, which it uses to drag itself across the sea-floor or devour its prey.

The throat has been described as resembling a cheese grater.

They've been around for about 500 million years!

There are actually around 16 species of penis worms alive today. Don’t worry though, they are generally confined to the types of marine environments in which most other things can’t survive. This also means it won't come out and murder you in your sleep.

Here's their microscopic little teeth.
