Kiwi comedian Melanie Bracewell has accused Australian comic Dave Hughes of urinating in her backstage water glass before a show.

Bracewell made the claim in a TikTok comment after joking about Hughes sending her lengthy political messages on her birthday, adding he had done it more than once.

Hughes admitted the incident to the Daily Mail, saying he'd only done it a handful of times before shows when there was no backstage toilet and he was worried about wetting himself on stage.

The pair's latest exchange follows a week of online jabs, with Bracewell mocking Hughes' political messages and taking aim at his Melbourne property portfolio after his criticism of the Australian Government.
