IKEA really is one of those places that you need to see to believe...
And luckily for us, we could be getting the Auckland store a little sooner than we think.
Talking to BusinessDesk last week, Australian chief executive Jan Gardberg said the company is on its way “in the next three to four months”.
“We have already the locations, the strategy, who we are doing the deals with, and so on,” Gardberg said.
“We don’t have one single IKEA store there yet, we are leading that expansion from here,” he explained. "We already have the locations, the strategy, who we are doing the deals with, and so on.”
In 2019 the Swedish furniture giants revealed their plans to open a mega store in Auckland, while other parts of New Zealand would receive smaller-format stores for more specialist goods.
Luckily for all of us, they'll be shipping goods nationwide so we can all feast our eyes on flat-pack heaven.
Plus they have an official IG page, so it must be true!
