Jason Momoa is to star in a television show being set in New Zealand.

Nomad will follow a biker gang operating in “the violent underworld” of Aotearoa, according to Deadline.

Hayley sent Jason a voice memo asking if he needs a kiwi accent coach. Watch the video below.

The Apple TV show is being developed by Chris Collins and Kurt Sutter, the creator of Sons of Anarchy, which also followed a Californian motorcycle gang.

It’s unclear whether it will have any relation to the real-life Nomads, an active local gang founded in 1977, because few details are known about the show’s plot as yet.

A brief synopsis describes the story as following “a warrior torn between two lives, two callings and two families” who “must decide which path defines his true destiny”.

If filmed locally, the production will be an opportunity for Momoa to return to the place he has “always been drawn to”.

He has spent a significant amount of time in Aotearoa over the past few years, filming parts of A Minecraft Movie and his recent Apple show Chief of War on local shores.

In May, Momoa was revealed to have set some roots down here, having become a shareholder in the company behind local bar The Bunker.
