Apparently Monica and Chandler were NEVER meant to get married!

If it weren't for fans, the marriage wouldn't have happened.

In fact, their shocking London hookup in the season 4 finale was supposed to be more like a one-night stand.

"We had no idea what response that was going to get," Kauffman admitted. "We thought it was going to be funny and we were going to get rid of it."

But the fans had other plans.

"We had to stop (taping) the show because people were screaming."

"Suddenly, the audience told us they had been waiting for that," she adds.

"We had to rethink how we were going to keep going and change the relationship."

So awesome to hear they gave the fans what they wanted!!
