Ever Wondered Why The Pattern On Your Bus/Train Seat Is So Ugly?

It's pretty well known that bus and train seats have HIDEOUS patterns. But it turns out there is a reason for it (and it's not just to totally abuse your eyes).
The reason is to hide how DIRTY they are.
Yes, that pattern is there to distract our eyes from the dirt, grime, muck and fart molecules (too far?) that are on/in the seat.
It's not really a surprise considering how many people use them daily but it's still SO GROSS AHHHH.
It's all an illusion!
