Diplo says he dated both Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau

DJ Diplo has made some eyebrow-raising claims on the Smart Girl Dumb Questions podcast, saying he’s dated both Katy Perry and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The chat quickly made headlines, especially since Perry and Trudeau recently went public with their relationship.

Diplo then posted this selfie of the three of them, captioning it "The one that got away" a funny play on one of Katy Perry's songs.

Diplo and Perry were rumoured to have dated back in 2014, but it was his comment about Trudeau that really caught attention. While talking about Quebec, the DJ described the prime minister as “hot” and joked that they had dated.

The podcast later cleared things up, confirming Diplo’s Trudeau comment was all said in jest.
