Cody Simpson has lifted the lid on his high-profile romances with Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Miley Cyrus.

The 29-year-old pop star, who swapped music for competitive swimming in recent years, revealed that reality TV star Kylie Jenner was his first proper girlfriend 💕. Their relationship began after they met at the Los Angeles premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse in 2010.

Cody explained he took Kylie on a cinema date, and they were together for about a year. During an appearance on the We Need To Talk with Paul C. Brunson podcast, he said it was a young relationship and that they bonded through being in unique situations at such a young age.

Cody later dated supermodel Gigi Hadid, whom he described as his “first love”. He said he got Gigi’s phone number from a friend and contacted her to ask if she wanted to appear in one of his music videos. The video idea wasn’t real, but it broke the ice and the pair began dating. They were together on and off for about two years before splitting in 2015.

He admitted there were never any real plans for the music video, and he had essentially made up the concept just to start a conversation 😅. After texting for a while, he eventually asked her out for food instead.

Cody also revealed he took Gigi on their first date in his new car, even though he hadn’t passed his driving test yet. He said he felt like “the man” after getting his first car and picked her up despite not legally being allowed to drive alone at the time.

Reflecting on the relationship, Cody said Gigi was his first love and that they bonded through their families. He noted that her stepfather at the time was legendary music producer David Foster, a connection he feels he didn’t fully appreciate back then. He added that he believes the universe brings people together when they are meant to learn from each other.

After splitting from Gigi, Cody went on to date fellow pop star Miley Cyrus, who is nearly a decade older than him. They first met when he was 18 but didn’t become a couple until years later when they reconnected and ended up spending the COVID-19 lockdown together 🏡.

Cody said they had always had a lot in common and had previously spent time partying and hanging out together. Miley had also created artwork for one of his songs called “Flower.” Over time they lost touch, but when they reconnected years later and were more mature, their friendship turned into a relationship 💞.

He said Miley helped him navigate a period of personal change while he was exploring a more independent, singer-songwriter direction 🎶 in his music.

Looking back, Cody said he feels grateful for the relationship. He explained that they were both sober at the time and in very different places in their lives, and that the relationship helped them process what they had both been through. He added that he will always be grateful for that time together ❤️.
