Countdown has issued a voluntary recall of Signature Range Chocolate Ice Cream 2L with a best before date of 10 February 2018, sold in all North Island Countdown, Fresh Choice and SuperValue stores.

Signature Range Chocolate Ice Cream 2L with a best before date other than 10 February 2018 is not affected by the issue.

The issue doesn't affect any other Signature Range Ice Cream products.

The reason for the product being recalled is because it may contain pieces of plastic.

Countdown state that they haven't had any customer complaints about the issue but say customer safety is paramount and that customers should not eat the product listed above.

Customers can return the affected product to their nearest Countdown, SuperValue or Fresh Choice supermarket for a full refund.
