Last year, I got into a horrible car accident and became paralyzed from the waist down. I was in the hospital for 7 months and he drove 6 hours every weekend to sit next to me and hold my hand as I slept. That was it. I loved him, and I think he always loved me too. The minute I was out of the hospital he officially asked me to be his girlfriend, wheelchair and all. It's been a year now, and I know I found my soulmate."

Launched by LA-based Brooklyn Sherman, 27, just two weeks ago, the page has already attracted more than 48,000 followers and is growing in popularity every day.

Ms Sherman started by asking people on Facebook if they were in a serious relationship and, if so, to share the story of how they met their partner. Soon the romantic tales were flooding in.

The stories, which are paired with a cute picture of each blissfully happy couple, show that love can be found just about anywhere — from kindergarten to the office to Facebook.

Sherman says: "The insecurities bred from social media are hindering people's belief that they are worthy of love," she said. "The truth is, love is out there, and The Way We Met is putting those stories on display."
