1/18 "I was 27 and and fed up with the dating scene. I declared to my girlfriends that "if a guy can't just come up to me and ask me out, then he doesn't get to go out with me." Then on a summer evening soon after, I was playing Ultimate frisbee in a recreational league when this confident beautiful man walked up to me and said, "are you dating anyone?" When i replied no he said, "well then you should date me." We've been together for 15 years now and have two kids. Sometimes people just need to ask, because the answer might be yes."

When the fire department arrived, we were all giddy around the men in uniform. One fireman in particular, Doug, caught my eye. We ended up connecting on Facebook after he left and went on our first date the next night. Six months later we were engaged, and one and a half years later, married. There wasn't a fire that night, but I definitely ended up with my smokeshow."

I'm from Nashville and he's from a small town in South Africa. My boyfriend at the time and some friends met Adam on the sidewalk and striked up a conversation with him while I was inside ordering. Adam came into the pizza shop to introduce himself and my stomach did a flip. Several months and one ex boyfriend later, we started dating and now we're married. The perfect story of fate and pizza."

We had just enough time to introduce ourselves before the light turned green again. He looked back and said "I'm going to see you again," and drove away. We didn't get a chance to exchange numbers. A week later I was at a local deli with friends, and little did I know, he worked there. We reintroduced ourselves, and as I was about to leave, I wrote my number on a napkin. When I went to hand it to him, he already had his number ready to give to me too. It's been a green light ever since."

6/18 "My ex-boyfriend dumped me out of the blue in 2008. I was heartbroken. My friend invited me to his soccer game to try and help me get my mind off of it. I was one of the few people sitting in the stands, and it was cold, so all I wanted to do was go back to my dorm room. Then Mark caught my eyes. He was sitting in the bleachers a few rows ahead of me cheering on a friend. We hit it off immediately. He ended up proposing to me in that exact spot in 2012. Oh, and the best part? My grandfather who passed away always told me to look for pennies with my birth year on them for good luck, it was our little thing together. I never found one until the night I was getting ready for my first date with Mark."

7/18 "Early in 2013, I went to a psychic and the woman told me I was going to fall in love, and when I met that person, I would know immediately. She mentioned he was artistic, as was I, but we wouldn't share the same medium. She also said he would appreciate my quirkiness. On Memorial Day of 2013, I moved into Chris' building for my art residency. He was the RA on my floor and immediately noticed me in my eclectic purple jeans. I noticed him too. When I first walked into my room, I realized I didn’t have a bed and the ceiling above my shower was peeling. Chris came to my rescue, bringing me a brand new mattress and after enough pestering, repaired my ceiling. A few days later, Chris took the plunge and left a handwritten note on my door. We went on our first date a week later and the rest is history!"

I was grabbing coffee with friends at his store and introduced myself. Sparks were definitely flying but the relationship didn't unfold until a couple months later when I was transferred to work at his Starbucks location. Coffee is the way to many people's hearts, and I definitely took a double shot."

9/18 "I was in New York to visit my friend Brad for a guys' weekend. Brad was at work when my flight got in, so he left keys for me with his neighbor (and close friend) Deeva. I called Deeva in the cab on the way from Laguardia, and she told me to wait for her at a coffee shop to hand off the keys. When I arrived at the coffee shop, Deeva, overwhelmed by the picture of masculine perfection before her, parked herself in the chair across from me. Neither of us stood up for 3 hours. I was floored by my own good fortune and the radiant beauty of my would-be key-courier. Needless to say, I never did make it to Brad's apartment that weekend."

10/18 "So how did this southern belle from South Carolina and this city boy from Michigan end up together? It all started 2 years ago when we met on a college internship program at Disney. We worked together for nearly 5 months before we realized we were perfect for each other. After that we were inseparable; stealing kisses from each other at work and trying to hide it from our co-workers. When the internship ended, our relationship was long distance for a while because I had to go back to school and he stayed to pursue his career. Now, we live together in Orlando where our fairytale began. I guess the moral of the story is Disney Magic IS real!"

11/18 "We met in high school. I'm a year older than him but we both played on the soccer team. One day his toe fell off. No literally, mid-soccer game he broke his big toe and it was hanging on by a thin piece of skin. He was cringing and screaming. Stuff like that doesn't bother me so I sat by his side until his family came and took him to the hospital. For the next 4 years we were best friends. Last year, I got into a horrible car accident and became paralyzed from the waist down. I was in the hospital for 7 months and he drove 6 hours every weekend to sit next to me and hold my hand as I slept. That was it. I loved him, and I think he always loved me too. The minute I was out of the hospital he officially asked me to be his girlfriend, wheelchair and all. It's been a year now, and I know I found my soulmate."

12/18 "We met while working as reporters at the same TV station. I had just finished college and I told myself I wouldn't get involved with anyone at work. The first day I saw her, she was standing with her back facing towards me and I thought to myself, "please don't be hot, please don't be hot." Sure enough, she turned around and I was instantly attracted to her. We went on a few dates but I didn't think she was into to me. Then, one night when I was dropping her off at her place, there was an awkward moment at the door. I went to leave but she pulled me back in, and kissed me. We've been together for almost two years now, and I'm so glad I didn't listen to myself."

13/18 "We worked at the same company. She was in the key punch department (they don't have those anymore) and I was in the blueprint department, so our paths would cross. I took her out to lunch at the cafeteria, and wouldn't you know it, I didn't have any money on me so she had to pay! The rest is history. I've been paying ever since, gladly. We've been married for over 58 years."

14/18 “I met my boyfriend Jake because he somehow showed up on my dad's "people you may know" list on Facebook. My dad claims he accidentally clicked the add friend button (and blames his "fat fingers.") Two days later I get a message from a super hunky Jake that says, "Hey so I don't think we've ever met, but your dad added me on Facebook?" I was just a little embarrassed, but it ended up being a blessing in disguise! Jake asked me on a date shortly after that and now we're in love and have a cute little red-headed son! Happily ever after the end.”

15/18 "One of my friends who lives in LA posted pictures of this eligible bachelor named Jeremy on Facebook, with a short paragraph about him. I was living in Florida at the time but about to move to California for graduate school, so I took the plunge and messaged him on Facebook. We ended up talking for 3 hours straight and realized we had a lot in common. He offered to pick me up from the airport upon the arrival of my one-way flight to LA, and of course I said yes. Jeremy and I had some mutual friends on Facebook so I texted them to be safe and make sure he was a good guy. I also checked in with friends and family as this was going on. We hit it off INSTANTLY that night and 4 days later we decided to be boyfriend/girlfriend. It's been 9 months now and we are happy, in love, and best friends."

16/18 "We matched on Tinder, but he didn't say anything for 5 days, so I unmatched him! The next day I get a direct message on Instagram, and it's a picture of him holding a hand written sign saying, "Hi Kaitlyn! You deleted me on tinder and I deserved it because I didn't say hello, I'm sorry! 😞 I'm on a work trip right now, and didn't want to start a conversation without the ability to ask you out. If you would give me another shot, I would love to meet you when I get back." The following week he took me out to a beautiful dinner and we saw Wicked on our first date! It's only been 5 months or so, but it's been awesome."

17/18 "My boyfriend Nick and I were high school sweethearts. We started dating when I was 15 in high school until I was almost 20 and in college. I broke up with him because we were young and both had some growing up to do. But last November, at our HIGH SCHOOL REUNION, I realized I would never love anyone else the way I love him. We got back together that evening and have been together ever since, 6 months and going strong!"

If you need to believe in true love then look no further than this BEAUTIFUL Instagram account.
Launched by LA-based Brooklyn Sherman, 27, just two weeks ago, the page has already attracted more than 48,000 followers and is growing in popularity every day.
Ms Sherman started by asking people on Facebook if they were in a serious relationship and, if so, to share the story of how they met their partner. Soon the romantic tales were flooding in.
The stories, which are paired with a cute picture of each blissfully happy couple, show that love can be found just about anywhere — from kindergarten to the office to Facebook.
Sherman says: "The insecurities bred from social media are hindering people's belief that they are worthy of love," she said. "The truth is, love is out there, and The Way We Met is putting those stories on display."
WE LOVE THIS!
