Someone Tried to Body Shame This Man But Something Awesome Happened Instead
/25 Last month, a user on the anonymous message board 4chan posted this shot of a guy dancing at what appears to be a concert. They said: “Spotted this specimen trying to dance the other week. He stopped when he saw us laughing.”
/25 The post was screenshot and posted on Imgur, where it gained a lot attention. Mostly, people were disgusted at a stranger making the man feel bad about himself.
The pictures were picked up by Twitter user Cassandra Fairbanks, who put out a call to find the guy and organize something special for him.
/25 And it worked!
/25 There were many more Tweets calling out to see if anyone knew the man so they could party with him.
/25 There was a hashtag.
/25 Fairbanks told Buzzfeed she was a little worried about circulating the photo even further and embarrassing him, but she thought it was already out there and was more concerned about turning a negative into a positive.
/25 “I decided to tweet it and our offer in the hopes if he did see it, he would see something positive instead of a bunch of people upset,” she said.
/25 Fairbanks was sent this photo who looked just like the dancing man and was wearing the same wristband.
/25 And IT WAS HIM! The internet had found the dancing man!
/25 Now heaps of celebs have shown interest in the party!!
/25 The LA Coliseum agreed to host the event, which has already raised more than $30,000 online.
/25 And the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board volunteered to pay for Sean's travel.
/25 Sean, via his Twitter account, has said that he's keeping a low profile until he gets to LA.
