Jealous Boyfriend Wanted This Woman to Stay Fat. She Didn't.

This is Christine Carter. She hasn't always looked like this.

Sixteen months ago the 28-year-old was very unhealthy - she found herself going to the doctor weekly due to health issues caused by her size. At her biggest, she weighed 124kg.

During an interview with the Daily Mail Carter said her initial weight gain took off after she quit smoking. She transferred her addiction from nicotine to eating. 

But it wasn't just hear eating that was unhealthy. Her relationship was too. 

The abusive relationship left her feeling unworthy of anything better:

“My ex was very controlling, told me what to wear, and I believe he wanted me to be fat so that I wouldn’t leave him. He also didn’t like me having me own friends.”

“Being overweight, I didn’t feel I deserved anything better – I went from a place of being ‘fat and happy’ to just ‘fat.'”

After losing the weight she said:

“I am not the same girl I once was. It ended my relationship – my ex became very insecure and jealous and I gained the confidence to see that I was not in a healthy relationship and needed to get out.”

She turned to eating. “I would wake up and eat all day long – sometimes I would eat in the middle of the night.”

She got to the point where just walking up the stairs put her out of breath.

Carter had finally had enough after suffering. She tried numerous diets and eventually resorted to having Vertical Gastric Sleeve surgery.

Surgeons removed 70% of her stomach in 2014. But after she began putting back on some of the weight, Carter realizsd she had to do something about the way she was living her life:

“The weight loss surgery is only a tool. I had a wake-up call when I realised I was going to be a weight-loss surgery failure.”

She hired a coach and mentor to help her and transformed herself.
