Guy Loses His iPhone Kayaking & Gets It Back After It's Spent 1 1/2 Months In the Ocean

    This guy went kayaking with his friends. He had his iPhone 6 Plus in a waterproof case around his neck and was snapping pics like this one!

    Aaaaand the final photo before his iPhone was lost. He fell into the water and panicked.

    "I was panicking because I thought I was going to die even though I had my life vest on but it was because my foot got caught in the seaweed," Sam wrote on Imgur. "I thought my life was over (I know I'm being dramatic but it was still pretty scary)."

    He eventually made his way back to his kayak, but fell once again, dropping his iPhone 6 Plus with its new waterproof case into the water. He didn't realise he'd dropped it until he made it back to the shore.

    An employee from the kayak rental searched for his phone, but came up empty handed.

    He placed his phone on lost mode and gave up after a week.

    On May 8, he received a message saying his iPhone had been found. Another kayaker ventured into Monterey Bay to go Scuba diving and found the phone working, sealed in the waterproof bag near a rock.

    Sam arranged to meet up with the person who found his phone. 

    "When I got to the meeting spot, the phone was in the same bag I had purchased from Amazon and it turned on!! I was baffled. I had no words to explain my feelings. I didn't know what to say or do. I couldn't have thanked them enough."
