Summer is setting in, and ZM is rolling out the welcome mat with a fresh feature of Kiwi favourites Drax Project! In this edition of ZM’s Acoustic Corner, we’re turning the spotlight to their brand-new single 'Summer Rain'. 👙

Band members say the song wasn’t originally meant for them - it began as a jam session several years ago, and honestly, “just for fun.” They reconvened in 2025, the melody and lyrics clicked. What emerged is a deeply human song: thoughtful and soulful. According to bassist Sam Thomson, Summer Rain is rooted in “sentimentality, heartache, and accepting your fate.” It’s about those intense connections (perhaps with a person) who come and go and finding peace even if they never return.
