Drax Project’s new single 'Summer Rain' started as a song they never planned to release themselves. Written in Sydney during a draxlaxed, casual jam session and left on a hard drive. When they revisited it this year, the pieces fell into place quickly and naturally.

The track marks their first solo release since 2023 and a fresh direction for the band. Reflecting on their beginnings like busking, playing covers at parties, and scraping by, Drax Project say their songwriting still works the same: four perspectives shaping one story.

'Summer Rain' leans into simplicity and emotion, exploring connection, distance, and acceptance. With stripped-back production and raw vocals, it captures the “aggressively human” feel that first put them on the map with 'Woke Up Late.'
