The World’s largest poppy is in the process of being created by the public in honour of the 100th ANZAC day. The poppy is 40m tall, lying flat, and is being created out of 59,000 discs that represent NZ men and women who were wounded or killed in WWI.

It opened on 16 April and is currently being 'built' until 6pm April 24 on the sports field below the Museum in the Auckland Domain – open 8am to 6pm every day.

All New Zealanders, here and globally, can become involved by going online to the website to make a donation to purchase a poppy; it will be placed on their behalf – www.giantpoppy.co.nz
