You've been there... in the checkout queue, staring at the stands of sweets, quickly justifying the 60 cents you really want to spend on that Chupa Chup.Â
Of course, you cave and end up standing there with your mouth watering, wishing you could have the sweet taste in your mouth immediately. But you get through the checkout, and you STILL can't get that sweet taste in your mouth as quickly as you'd like, because you can't open the bloody thing!
Why the hell are Chupa Chups so hard to open?!
Our mates at the NZ Herald have got to the bottom of it for us, by contacting the guys at Chupa Chups themselves.
They received a super cheerful email response from Sam Hansen, the country manager for the company that makes Chupa Chups:
"Yep we know that Chupa Chups are super hard to open. We've designed them like that," she writes.
"There are actually two layers of wrapper that are twisted together and sealed at the bottom with heat. That way we know they will get to you in the condition they left the factory.
"You can try twisting your Chupa Chups at the bottom of the wrapping to open it - makes it a little easier!
"Embrace the anticipation of getting into your favourite Chupa Chups because you know when you eventually get in, it'll be worth it! Don't give up on moments of fun!"
So, it's a twisting motion from the bottom! Some guy on YouTube has also demonstrated it for us:
THANK YOU INTERNET.
