Apple's latest iPhone is due to be unveiled on March 21, and the interest and speculation around their latest release is building.Â
And now, rumour has had it that the new iPhone will be called the iPhone 5se to reflect how similar it is to its predecessor
But the absolute latest news on the new release is that it will actually be called the iPhone SE – standing for ‘special edition’.
It has been reported that Apple have dropped the ‘5’ to avoid confusing people, as the 6S is already on sale.
This has been found to be very interesting because if it’s true, it will be the first iPhone update that Apple has released without a number in the title (remember iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, iPhone 5C etc).
This all may mean that the ‘iPhone 7’, expected to be released in September, might no longer be called the 'iPhone 7'.
This information is from website 9to5 Mac, who obtained the leaks. Also according to the website, the iPhone SE will look identical to the iPhone 5s except for slightly curved edges.
