This Girl Is Trying To Meet Taylor Swift Before She Loses Her Hearing

Twelve-year-old Jorja has slowly been losing her hearing for some time now, but has found comfort from the music of Taylor Swift.

Doctors weren't sure of the cause but Jorja was diagnosed with bilateral inner-ear loss. “They can’t give us a timeframe, they just can’t stop it,” Jorja’s mother, Melissa, told BuzzFeed News.

According to her mum, the first thing Jorja said when she found out she was going deaf was “I won’t be able to hear Taylor Swift sing”.

Chloe, Jorja’s twin sister, told her mother that she thought it would be great if Jorja could meet Taylor Swift before she lost her hearing. She then took it upon herself to start up a Facebook page called Help Jorja Meet Taylor Swift In Sydney 2015.

“Chloe started the Facebook page and a hashtag, ‪#‎HelpJorjaMeetTaylorSwiftSydney‬, and from there the local paper also ran a story,” said Melissa. “We are just hoping anyone and everyone will share and like the page to get Taylor’s attention.”

“Jorja and Chloe are fully understanding this is a very big long shot,” said Melissa, “but I have said if it doesn’t happen at least they know they tried everything possible.”

“Jorja has had a long history of setbacks, including seven surgeries on her ears. … She is small for her age but just carries on and keeps smiling.”
