Some of your favorite lollies, like M&Ms, Skittles, and more are about to get a make over!
According to a press release issued by the parent company of whole load of confectionery, Mars, Inc, all artificial colours will be removed from over 50 of the chocolates, gum, foods, drinks, and confections that the brand manufactures. Replacing them will be all natural alternatives sourced by the company.
This all means that Skittles, Wrigley's gum, M&Ms and even Snickers will most likely look different.Â
Obviously a change of this scale won't happen immediately. Mars President and CEO Grant F. Reid has said that "eliminating all artificial colors from our human food portfolio is a massive undertaking, and one that will take time and hard work to accomplish." To be specific, the company are planning for a full roll-out of the all-natural sweets in five years.
While this may bug some people who are very particular about their colours, the change is overall a very good thing, as this will make us feel a little less guilty about scoffing back our fav lollies.
