Brad had an unfortunate career ending injury while pushing the limits of the sport to new levels, this occurred during the filming of the Lake Ronix section of this movie.
All proceeds will be going toward helping in Brads recovery.

Background on Brad
27 year old professional wakeboarder Brad Smeele suffered a hideous accident while training in the US on July 6th this year, resulting in a shattered C4 vertebrae and leaving him as a quadriplegic. This is without doubt the most serious injury the worldwide Wakeboard Industry has experienced. After almost 4 months of hospital care in the USA he is now back in NZ undergoing rehabilitation at the Auckland Spinal Unit.
Brad is one of the World's top Wakeboarders, and was always pushing the limits to break new ground and perform new tricks never done before. It was executing one such a trick - a 'double tantrum to blind',(double backflip off one mega ramp to another) that Brad suffered his devastating injury. Brad is the first to ever complete this trick which gave him the 'bitter sweet' honour of winning the prestigious ’Trick of the Year’ award at the 2014 International Wake Awards. Brad remains strong and determined that he will regain movement and walk again – but this is a very long journey, and the biggest challenge of his life.
