Police Respond to Reports of Officer Shot in Hamilton

Heavily armed police have cordoned off the Mill Street PAK'nSAVE in Hamilton.

Newstalk ZB has been told a police officer has been shot in the leg.

Officers at the scene will not confirm that.

Our reporter there Georgia Nelson is there.

"Heavily armed police have cordoned off the entire Mill Street PAK'nSAVE area. an St John ambulance is at the scene as well as a number of police dogs."

Police will also not comment on whether the incident is connected to their search for armed man Zeb McCallion who left a home-made bomb in the yard after terrorising a family in a Kihikihi.
