Photo of Police Officer Comforting Little Girl After An Accident Which Killed Her Father Goes Viral

A heartbreaking yet sweet photo of a policeman distracting a small girl following a fatal car crash that claimed the life of her father has been captured in the US.

Captured by passer-by Jessica Matrious, it shows the policeman holding the young girl in his arms and doing his best to draw her attention away from the wreckage of the car still containing members of her family, which lies upside down in the background.

According to police, the male driver of the car was killed in the crash while a woman and a child were raced to hospital by air ambulance.

Police say the two adults and four kids in the SUV were not properly restrained. All of them were ejected in the crash.

The accident occurred because a tyre reportedly blew and the driver lost control.
