In March 2001, Nickelodeon launched an original series called Invader Zim that revolved around a space invader who infiltrates planet earth disguised as a human child, all the while plotting the planet's destruction. The Series won both an Emmy Award and an Annie Award, however, was cancelled after just two seasons (27 episodes). Here's a throwback that could trigger all sorts of childhood nostalgia.
Although Invader Zim only lived a short life on TV, Nickelodeon has recognised it's cult following and have decided to launch a 90 minute TV movie based on the original series by creator, Jhonen Vazquez.
The Invader Zim TV movie will join other show revivals Hey Arnold!, The Jungle Movie and Rocko's Modern Life as Nickelodeon reboots.
