You've probably seen the "turn on post notification" posts all over your Instagram, just like the one from Charlotte Crosby below:

But there is no need to fear (well, yet), as Instagram has responded to criticism of plans to make changes to users feed by saying they're not happening - yet

The drama all began when Instagram announced a big change to users newsfeeds. Rather than posts showing up in a chronological list, Instagram is introducing a algorithm that will sort posts based on "the likelihood you'll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting, and the timeliness of the post".

This means that Instagram will be much more like Facebook's news feed, as they choose what to show you and when.

Many people have begun posting the "turn on post notifications" due to the belief that the change is happening today. But this is in fact not true, as Instagram has responded that the changes to the news-feed aren't happening yet:

This doesn't mean the changes aren't happening, they're just not happening yet. Instagram said earlier in March that it would be rolling out the algorithm in the "coming months".

Some users have claimed that they can already see posts appearing in non-chronological order, but this is thought to be part of the testing process.

A whole load of Instagram users are urging their followers to turn on notifications for their posts, using the hashtag #turnmeon, so that followers will receive an alert every time they post an update.
