In an attempt to ensure no inappropriate content is shared on Instagram, the Facebook-owned photo-sharing app has restricted the use of certain hashtagged content. Obviously, this is completely necessary in some cases, but some of the hashtags may have you asking #whaaaat?

Here is a sample of the understandably banned hashtags: #fapstagram, #bigbootyhoes, #asiandick and #eggporn (which we're too scared to look up). Seems fair enough, right?

Other hashtags such as #thinspiration, which have a negative effect on users, have also understandably been blocked.

But the long list of seemingly random hashtags has Instagram users crazy confused. These include:

#brain

#easter

#elevator

#newyears

#pushups

#saltwater

#singlelife

#Skype

#streetphoto

#tgif

Instagram has yet to comment on the seemingly innocent hashtags.
