Hilary Duff shares heartbreaking tribute to Hayden Panettiere after her death

Former child stars Hilary Duff and Hayden Panettiere may have lost touch over the years, but that didn't stop Duff from sharing a deeply emotional tribute following the actress's tragic death.
Taking to Instagram, the Lizzie McGuire star reflected on the unique bond the pair shared while growing up in the spotlight.
"Sweet Hayden. Really tough hearing this news," Duff wrote. "We lost touch through the years but I will always remember you as so hardworking and effervescent, with that big, gorgeous smile."
Duff went on to recall late-night chats and the connection they formed as young actors navigating childhood fame.

"I remember staying up late, chatting and gossiping, and connecting because we were part of such a small sliver of people who actually understood the strange lot in life we were navigating... so young, with no real idea how to make sense of any of it."
The singer and actress ended her tribute by expressing her sadness that Panettiere's story ended so soon.
"I so deeply wish this wasn't the end for you. Sending a heart full of love to your family, the many people you impacted and everyone who loved you. Rest easy."
News of Hayden Panettiere's death was announced after she was found unresponsive at a residence in South Carolina on August 16. She was 36 years old. Authorities later confirmed she died at the scene despite resuscitation efforts.
Since her passing, tributes have continued to pour in from friends, former co-stars and loved ones, with many remembering the actress for her talent, warmth and impact on those around her.
Panettiere was best known for roles in Heroes, Nashville and the Bring It On franchise, and her death has sparked an outpouring of grief across the entertainment industry.
