New Ed music is on the way and the latest release is set to be an emotional track about digging through his 2015 phone.

Ahead of the release of his upcoming single Old Phone, Sheeran took to his secondary Instagram account, @teddysoldphone, on Wednesday to share a series of throwback photos.

The carousel, filled with vintage snapshots pulled from an old device he recently turned on, gave fans a peek into moments from the past a selfie with longtime friend Taylor Swift.

The account, aptly named, features content exclusively from a phone Sheeran used up until 2015.

He recently revived the device while working on his next album, giving fans a curated trip down memory lane.

In the caption, Sheeran revealed he wrote Old Phone at 2 a.m. in India during a reflective moment as he wrapped up the album. He described the track as one of his most emotional, exploring themes of life, loss, and personal growth.

To mark the song’s debut, Sheeran even went the extra mile — building a full-scale British-style pub, dubbed The Old Phone, at Coachella 2025, where he performed the track live for the first time.

Old Phone is the second single off Sheeran’s forthcoming album Play, following the release of Azizam, which peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Sheeran and Swift’s friendship dates back to 2012. The two previously collaborated on her hit Everything Has Changed from the Red album, and Sheeran joined Swift on stage for her Red Tour in 2013.
