Charli XCX sells out Auckland listening party

Auckland's Brats wasted no time.

The Hollywood Avondale has officially sold out its exclusive listening party for Charli xcx's upcoming album Music, Fashion, Film, making Auckland one of 26 cities around the world hosting an early preview of the record.

The independent cinema event takes place this week as part of a global series of listening parties running from July 9 to July 11, giving lucky fans the chance to hear the entire album a full two weeks before its official release on July 24.

Alongside Auckland, screenings are being held in cities across the UK, North America, Australia, Brazil, Japan and Europe, with venues including The Castle in London, Savoy Cinema in Stockport and Cinema and Showtime in Dublin.

The Von Dutch hitmaker recently revealed that Music, Fashion, Film features just one collaboration, and she's convinced nobody will guess who it is.

Appearing on French TV show Quotidien, Charli teased: "There is one collaboration.

"I'm not telling you, but you won't be able to guess."

The singer, who featured John Cale, Marc Jacobs and Martin Scorsese on the album artwork to represent her heroes across music, fashion and film,doubled down on the mystery.

"I'd bet money on you not guessing. You can try!

"You could have 1000 chances and you still wouldn't guess."

Fans have already had a taste of the new era with singles Rock Music, SS26 and Wink Wink, building anticipation for what could be one of the year's biggest pop releases.

Meanwhile, Charli recently shut down rumours of a feud with Madonna after the pair were spotted partying together in Paris following the Saint Laurent menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show.

The two stars were seen chatting, hugging and dancing together at the after-party, putting an end to speculation that Madonna's recent social media posts were aimed at Charli after the singer declared in Rock Music that "the dance floor is dead."
