Up until now, Apple has only considered a handful of colour options for their iPhones.
But after years of Apple products, it's about time that they release a wider range of options, and red seems to be the obvious choice (after all, it's the traditional colour of an apple). But despite what people would think, that isn't the reason the new iPhone has a vibrant new colour choice.
Apple’s CEO Tim Cook explained the creative choice; “Since we began working with RED 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano RED Special Edition all the way to today’s lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.”

According to their website, RED is a company "with a simple mission, to make it easy for people and businesses to join the fight against the deadly virus." Apple has worked with RED a number of times in the past through special edition products, but this will be the first iPhone to be directly linked to the company.
The RED special edition iPhone 7 will be on sale from the 24th of March and is available in both Plus and regular size.
