An 11-year-old Arkansas girl stole $10,000 in cash and called a taxi to take her to see a teenage boy in Florida.

Alexis Waller took the money from her grandmother’s sock drawer on Dec. 5, walked out of their Bryant, AR, home in the middle of the night and hitched a ride to a gas station in Little Rock, where she called a taxi, according to Fox-40.

The driver said it would be $2,500 for the ride, so she gave him $1,300 and said he’d get remainder when they reached Florida.

Alexis told Fox-40,

"He didn’t really ask anything, he just asked me where I needed to go. I said, ‘I need to go to Jacksonville, Florida’. He’s like, ‘do you have money’ and I’m like ‘yes.’"

She met the 16-year-old boy from Jacksonville two years ago, and they had kept in touch via the Internet.

Alexis was just outside of Atlanta, GA, when police pulled over the cab.

Police had accessed her phone records after her parents reported her missing, according to ABC News, which contained the call to the cab company.

Once informed of her location, Alexis’ parents drove nine hours to pick her up.

The cab driver will not be charged because he did not break any laws or intend to endanger the girl.

A managing partner of the cab company said: "Maybe he lacked a little bit of judgment."

The boy told police he had no idea Alexis was coming to see him.

Alexis’ father said,

"You have the rest of your life to punish her, and you just want to hug her and just love her because you got her back and that’s what’s important."

So far, her has taken away her cell phone and makeup.
