Bride Who Survived Cancer Dances With the Man Who Saved Her

A bride who owes her life to a man who saved her from cancer shared a heart-warming moment with him at her wedding.

At 16, Greta Hokanson was diagnosed with leukemia and told she wouldn't survive unless she could have a bone marrow transplant.

After joining the bone marrow registry, she found a match in 44-year-old Danny Daniels from Arkansas.

The pair went ahead with the surgery and two years later, met in person.

"Before I met him, he was this amazing man who gave his bone marrow to me without knowing anything about me," Hokanson told BuzzFeed Life. "It was incredible seeing him standing right there in front of me."

When it came to planning her wedding to now-husband Tony Hokanson, she knew she wanted Daniels to be there.

At the October 10 reception in Minnesota, Greta and Danny shared an emotional dance to the track Angels Among Us by American country band Alabama.

The bride, who is still affected by joint pain and fatigue, said she thanked him and "got really emotional. I can't get over what his selfless act means."

Danny said: "I was very proud at the wedding, just like a father would be. It felt like my own daughter getting married."
