Divide follows the success of previous albums Multiply and Plus.

It comes after two years away from the limelight, which Sheeran said he took as an opportunity to travel the world.

"No one really cares about me in Japan," he said. "There are like two people that like me in Japan.

With the news of the release date, more details have been revealed of what will be on the deluxe version of the album with new tracks named "Barcelona", "Bibia Be Ye Ye", "Nancy Mulligan" and "Save Myself".

The Photograph singer created the cover artwork for Divide himself.
