Coup De Main Track of the Week - The Vamps feat Demi Lovato - Somebody To You

I love pop-music underdogs. There’s something about 'em that makes me want to be on their side, and in the face of all adversity, wish everyone else in New Zealand felt exactly the same way as me.

But it’s not a pity vote. It’s genuine respect for a boyband like The Vamps being successful in a world where their most well-known musical peers have shortcut helping-hands from the likes of the Justin Bieber / Scooter Braun machine, or One Direction and Simon Cowell. All of The Vamps’ success thus far can be attributed solely to them and no other pre-existing celebrities - I love that.

I bet Demi Lovato feels the same way. She wasn’t even planned to sing on the band’s new single, 'Somebody To You', but she’s on there now, and she sure sounds great. Now that The Vamps are four singles into their debut album, 'Meet The Vamps', this is just icing on the cake, really.

In an interview with Digital Spy, the band said: "We were working in LA with the same producers and she was literally just next door in the studio the same time as us… We were brainstorming for a feature and Demi came up, and then she tracked it the next day… It's weird. We weren't expecting it. It's Demi Lovato! I bought her album when it came out and now she's on our track."
