Hollywood hunk Timothée Chalamet to play Willy Wonka in new remake

It really is a timeless classic, and the thing about those is that you can never have too many remakes!

Timothée Chalamet has been chosen to play the role the eccentric Willy Wonka in the latest adaptation of the film which is scheduled for release in 2023. 

Warner Brothers are in the process of retelling the the famous Roald Dahl story from 1964, but "focus on a young Wonka and his adventures prior to opening the world's most famous chocolate factory".

 

Gene Wilder starred in 1971′s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, based on Dahl's celebrated book. In Tim Burton's 2005 reboot, Johnny Depp played Wonka in a Warner Bros. release that grossed $475 million worldwide.

Chalamet first hit the big time in 2014 with a supporting role in Interstellar but is probably most famous for his role in Oscar-nominated film Ladybird from 2017.
