What an incredible and mind-f*cking mash up?! Ed Sheeran is coming to Game of Thrones Season 7!

According to multiple outlets, GoT showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss announced during a panel at the South by Southwest Festival on Sunday afternoon that the British pop star is set to make a guest appearance on season 7 of the critically-acclaimed HBO show.

Showrunners Benioff and Weiss confirmed that they've been pursuing the singer for a while, as GoT star Maisie Williams is a HUGE fan:

"For years, we tried to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie, and this year we finally did it."

There have been no details yet, surrounding his involvement or character, but we can't wait to see what magic they come out with.

In addition to finding out our favourite red-head will be starring on the HBO show, the showrunners also confirmed that the eighth and final season of the show will only have six episodes. Yup, only six.

While onstage, Williams and Sophie Turner asked Benioff and Weiss to pick favourites between the two of them — as in pick a fave between Maisie and Sophie, not Arya and Sansa Stark, and Turner wasn't super pleased with their answer...

WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE ED ALONGSIDE OUR GoT STARS!
