Cam from ZM's Late show caught up with Yungblud during his visit to Aotearoa on his Life On Mars Tour and it was pure chaos!
As much as we love Zoom, it's been a hot minute since we've had an international artist pop into the studio, and Yungblud + Cam are the duo we didn't know we needed.
You know it's going to be a good time when Yungblud says to Cam, "I just love that we get onto topics like this. We're gonna be mates I can tell!"
Yungblud raved about the community he shares with his fans, saying, "I feel so honoured to stand next to them. And I never want it to end.
"I never wanna become too inaccessible or a 'rockstar'... I am one of them. this is a movement, this is a culture, this is an idea, this is an identity."
He also spoke about the artists that inspired him to create the movement that is 'Yungblud', "I would watch The Sex Pistols, David Bowie, Gaga, Madonna, I would watch these artists when I was young and confused and needed an answer and was like I wanna be just like that."
"The adoration you have for your community needs to be the same as they have for you, or it's not gonna work... look people in the eye and see them."
Yungblud also spoke in detail about how he doesn't agree with being labelled as "punk" as the genre is often misconstrued.
"Everyone called me a punk. And I don't like it when people do that. I'm all about love... Punk isn't Punk. It's a feeling. Punk isn't a safety pin your ear... it's about an energy and a feeling and an expression without censorship."
Later on it got pretty "chaotic", with talks of doing a shoey.
"I took his [Yungblud's manager] shoe off, poured it in and then he drank it and he was buzzing. He was proper excited... If someone throws a shoe on stage I'll definitely do a shoey."
