People Reveal the Most Humiliating Moments of Their Childhoods

1/21 Melissa, 29: Apparently I used to pick my nose and eat it a lot because my parents had to tell me that it would make a monster grow in my stomach. It’s a little messed up, I know. It worked well until we were in an elevator with a pregnant lady and I started accusing her of picking her nose and eating it all the time.

2/21 Jenny, 32: I thought I was putting in a VHS tape of cartoons that my parents were keeping in their room, for some reason. It was a homemade sex tape. I will never get those images out of my mind.

3/21 Mason, 27: My mom told me that we had to get rid of our dog because I would always try to touch his, um, red rocket. I could have gone my whole life without ever finding that one out, mom.

4/21 Rebecca, 30: In the 3rd grade I pooped my pants. I asked the teacher if I could go to the restroom and then put my back against the wall and sidestepped around the whole classroom like a total weirdo out the door. I don’t think I handled it very well.

5/21 Colby, 24: The first time I got my period I was at Disney World while wearing khakis. I was playing in one of the little splash park areas and didn’t realize it was all running down my leg. I was completely humiliated.

6/21 Jordan, 28: In the 7th grade I wore a t-shirt of The Flintstones movie in my school picture. It was way too big and should not have been worn by anyone ever. My mom still has it hanging up at her house.

7/21 Rob, 33: When I was in the sixth grade this kid in my class told me that I “jack off with my mom.” I didn’t know what that meant so I responded and said, “So what?” That was probably the worst thing I could have said, to be honest.

8/21 Daniel, 32: I was at that age where I might still have an accident, but definitely wasn’t wearing diapers or pull-ups. I was reading magazines while my mom grocery shopped and suddenly had the strong urge to go pee. I ignored them until it was too late and had a puddle underneath me. Instead of telling someone I put a magazine on top of it and ran back to my mom. I feel so sorry for whoever picked up that magazine.

9/21 Mark, 31: In 6th grade I was dating a girl named Kim. I say dating, which, in sixth grade means very little. I decided to express my love by getting her initials shaved in my hair. It was very popular to get designs cut into your hair, at the time. Don’t judge me. If that wasn’t bad enough, the next day when I got to school she had dumped me and started dating someone else. I had to go the whole day with her initials in my hair.

10/21 Spencer, 30: My family went on vacation one year and my sister had gotten a bunch of disposable cameras, since they were new and cool. When she got the pictures developed she was looking through them with her friends and they all started screaming. In one of the pictures I was wearing swim trunks and lying on the bed. You could clearly see my testicles from the angle of the camera. I have never wanted to disappear so much in my life.

11/21 Brett, 22: I walked in on my grandma going #2 and we made direct eye contact. I froze and didn’t know what to do, so I just started crying. I’m sure it was just as bad for her as it was for me.

12/21 Russell, 27: My mom told me that I used to grab everyone’s boobs when I was around 4. It didn’t matter if it was strangers or family members. Apparently I was quite the creeper.

13/21 Troy, 23: When I was in the 7th grade I had the brilliant idea of cutting my own hair. I usually pushed the front of it off my forehead so I figured instead of pushing it back, I would just cut it off. I looked like Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber for weeks.

14/21 Robin, 24: I wasn’t very good at math when I was younger, or now, to be honest. In third grade my teacher would call us up one by one to do a simple math problem on the chalkboard. When it was my turn I remembered my friend Jennifer didn’t get to go to the Christmas party because her family was Jehovah’s Witness. She told everyone it was because of religious reasons. I guess I figured that would work here as well. I told my teacher I couldn’t do math because of religious reasons. Shockingly, it did not work.

15/21 Zach, 29: This is really embarrassing, but I used to pick my nose and wipe it on a piece of construction paper I kept in my room. I don’t think my mom ever found it, but just the fact that I did it for so long really bothers me.

16/21 Judy, 27: I guess I blocked this out of my memory, but when I was little I used to collect jars and pee in them then keep them stored in my treehouse. My parents found the jars of pee and certainly had a lot of questions about where they had gone wrong.

17/21 Danielle, 22: I called my 4th grade teacher mom, even though it was a male teacher. No idea why I did it, but everyone made fun of me for quite a while. I’m sure my teacher wasn’t thrilled of being mistaken for a woman, either.

18/21 Neal, 34: My mom decided to make me a Halloween costume one year when I was little. I wanted to go as ALF, so instead of just buying a costume she spent so much more time and money making me one. I ended up looking like a hairy version of the kid from that movie Mask, with Cher in it.

19/21 Amber, 27: I had to break up with my “boyfriend” in the 5th grade because my parents revealed to me that it was my cousin. The worst part is that we had kissed several times.

20/21 Charlene, 24: I guess no one ever got around to telling me Santa wasn’t real because someone mentioned it at school well past the time you’d believe in Santa and I started crying so much my dad had to come pick me up. I would bet money people see me on Facebook and remember me as the girl who cried over Santa.

21/21 Ross, 29: I had a mullet from age 4-12. Don't talk to me about pain unless you had a mullet for nearly a decade.
